How long before I notice results?

First, we will always recommend consulting with your doctor for all serious skin issues and health concerns.

How quickly any skin disruption will clear up depends on its type, severity, the immune system, and treatments (if any) used in conjunction with RadiQuell™.

You should notice a significant reduction in pain and/or irritation shortly after applying RadiQuell™ to the skin.

Extremely sensitive, exposed wounds, or raw, damaged skin may feel a slight sting when first applied. This is normal.

We've had reported results as soon as 1-2 days on cuts, minor rashes, minor burns, hot spots, fluid-filled blisters, etc. With consistent administration, positive symptoms such as decreased redness, swelling, size, level of irritation, etc. are nearly always noticed within 3-5 days.

More severe cases will require a week or more of consistent application to get the skin back to normal.

If you apply RadiQuell™ faithfully and consistently for 5-10 days and do not notice any positive improvement whatsoever, send it back for a refund and consult a professional.

Should I put a bandage over RadiQuell™?

A bandage is not required after applying RadiQuell™, but in many cases, it would be advisable.

If the gel is used on sensitive or high-impact areas (e.g., near joints, bottom of the foot, etc.), a bandage would be advisable. Wounds kept covered and moisturized -- which RadiQuell™ helps with -- tend to heal faster.

Is it normal for RadiQuell™ to sting when first applied?

Yes, this is normal, especially on damaged skin, raw skin, and exposed wounds.

However, the initial sting should fade quickly and be followed by much less irritation -- similar to how lidocaine works. Some affected areas may feel little or no sting whatsoever.

What happens if RadiQuell™ gets in the eyes?

If RadiQuell™ gets in the eyes, flush them out with cool water to dilute and remove the product (it is water-soluble). It may sting, but it should not be harmful.

Does RadiQuell™ contain any preservatives or chemicals?

No, and we are adamant about that.

RadiQuell™ is made out of the highest quality ingredients that we can source from North American vendors to create these incredible nutritional products.

Where do the ingredients come from?

All of our ingredients are sourced from North American vendors and produced and verified for purity under cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices). This is the same quality standard used for both cosmetic and over-the-counter (OTC) products.

Where is RadiQuell™ made?

RadiQuell™ is currently produced in a cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) facility in North Carolina.

Is RadiQuell™ waterproof?

Because RadiQuell™ is water-soluble, it is (unfortunately) not waterproof or sweat-proof. This property helps it to absorb into the skin at a faster rate, but it comes at the cost of resistance to external moisture.

Does RadiQuell™ stain fabrics?

It is not known to permanently stain fabrics. If you get some on your clothes, it should come out with soap and water since it's water-soluble.

Is RadiQuell™ patented?

Yes! As of February 9, 2021, RTD Neutraceuticals, LLC (now AOX Biopharma, LLC, parent company of RadiQuell®) was issued United States Patent United States Patent #10,912,759, formally titled, "Topical Gel Compositions for the Treatment of Staphylococcal Infections."

Is RadiQuell™ flammable?

Nope.

How long before I notice results on my dog?

Should I put a bandage over RadiQuell™ Canine?

A bandage is not required after applying RadiQuell® Canine, but in many cases, it would be advisable.

If the gel is used on sensitive or high-impact areas (e.g., near hip joints or on a paw), a bandage would be advisable. Wounds that are kept moisturized and undisturbed tend to heal faster.

Dogs tend to instinctively lick an area in an attempt to soothe pain or irritation, and they may lick the gel off. In certain cases, an Elizabethan collar (cone or donut) may also be necessary to prevent them from being able to lick an affected area.

You should consult with your veterinarian as to whether a bandage and/or cone is needed. They can also show you how to properly apply them.

Can RadiQuell™ Canine be used on all dog breeds?

Yes, we have no reason to believe that RadiQuell™ Canine would be unsafe for any dog breed.

Can RadiQuell™ Canine be used on puppies?

RadiQuell™ Canine can be used on puppies that are 4 to 6 weeks and older. We don't recommend using it on newborns.

Can I use RadiQuell™ Canine in conjunction with other medications?

RadiQuell™ Canine can be used in conjunction with oral medications, such as Apoquel®, or injections.

However, we cannot verify the safety of RadiQuell™ Canine if it is mixed with other creams, lotions, or topical products of any kind.

If you decide to use RadiQuell™ Canine with another topical, do so cautiously. Consult a physician if any skin irritation occurs.

What happens if my dog licks RadiQuell™?

RadiQuell™ Canine is safe for dogs to lick!

The ingredients in RadiQuell™ are nutrition-based and will be metabolized in the body as a nutrient -- without messy internal side effects that chemicals can cause.

That said, it is for external use and not intended to be ingested.

Will there be a RadiQuell™ Canine spray?

We're working on that! We hope to begin producing a spray in 2027.

Is RadiQuell™ Canine available in stores?

Unfortunately, you won't find RadiQuell™ in a major retailer yet.

Is lavender oil toxic to dogs?

Simple answer:  Lavender oil is not toxic to dogs unless it is administered in very large quantities (this applies orally and topically).

RadiQuell™ Canine does not contain enough lavender oil in a full container that would be considered harmful to a healthy dog. It was researched and developed for over 15 years to be safe for dogs.

It is possible for some dogs to have an allergic reaction to lavender, though this is very infrequent.

As with any over-the-counter or prescribed product, if your dog exhibits an adverse reaction to RadiQuell™, we recommend discontinuing use and consulting your veterinarian.

Answer from Lavengel's founder and creator, W. Andrew Clark, Ph.D, RD:

We have developed a significant amount of data supporting the efficacy and safety of RadiQuell™ Canine in addressing dermatological problems that occur in canines. Research has reported benefits of lavender oil including antimicrobial activity, an anti-anxiety effect, and a reduction in itching. In the formulation of RadiQuell™, we are able to have the benefits of lavender oil at a level that is safe -- even if consumed by the animal.

Lavender oil is only toxic to canines when administered in excessive quantities. Whether it is applied topically or consumed orally, there is not enough lavender oil contained within an entire container of RadiQuell™ that could be considered harmful, even to a small dog. The larger the dog is, the greater the dose would be required to cause harm.

As with any over-the-counter or prescribed product, if you observe any skin reaction, digestive upset, or behavior issues, you should immediately discontinue use and consult your vet.

W. Andrew Clark, Ph.D, RD, is a Professor of Clinical Nutrition and Associate Dean of Research at East Tennessee State University. He has training in animal and human nutrition from Colorado State University, the University of Delaware, and North Carolina State University.  Dr. Clark has over 44 years of post-PhD nutrition experience and is the inventor of RadiQuell™ and other nutritional products.

Is RadiQuell™ Canine safe for humans?

Yes, although the focus here is currently on canines and, in the future, other animals.

Is RadiQuell™ Canine safe for other animals?

Yes, although we plan on releasing species-based formulations in the future.

As an interesting note: RadiQuell's former form, Lavengel®, has actually been successfully used with horses, birds, pigs, a bat-eared fox, and rodents, although extensive research has not yet been conducted.

Because it is chemical and preservative-free and made with nutrients, we believe RadiQuell™ Canine would be safe to use many different animals.

However, there is a component in lavender oil (linalool acid) that is found to be unhealthy for felines, so we do not suggest use on cats. We may create a lavender-free formula that can be used on felines in the future.

Is RadiQuell™ Canine unsafe to use on any skin issue?

We do not recommend using RadiQuell™ Canine on large, open wounds that are actively bleeding. You'll want to make sure any bleeding has stopped before applying. Wounds that have been stitched up (i.e. post-surgery) are perfectly fine.

We also recommend caution when applying RadiQuell™ Canine near the eyes -- as it could sting -- or on/near your dog’s nose due to its strong lavender scent when it is first applied. Some dogs don't mind it; some do. The strength of the scent fades shortly after being applied.

Is zinc bad for dogs?

This came from a question we were asked, and here is Dr. Clark's response:

"Zinc is actually a required trace mineral for all mammals, and the minimum requirement for dogs is 36 mg/kg of the dogs body weight.  A kilogram is 2.2 pounds, so a 60 pound dog (27.3 kg) would require ~983 mg of zinc per day to meet the minimal requirement for zinc.

A 30ml bottle of RadiQuell™ Canine contains around 1 mg of zinc for the entire container.

There are toxicity issues with high levels of zinc, and the LD acute toxicity is 100 mg/kg of body weight. Most zinc toxicities are from consumption of a penny (mostly zinc) or consumption of zinc phosphides, which are found in gopher, mole, and vole poison baits.

Zinc deficiency, on the other hand, is common and results in vomiting, loss of pigmentation in hair, retarded growth, evacuation, and delayed wound healing.

I am trained in human and animal nutrition, and we researched the safety of RadiQuell® thoroughly during the decade of product development and research prior to our launch."

Miscellaneous

What happened to Lavengel®?

We had been planning a refresh of Lavengel's packaging and, simultaneously, to launch a human line of products (RadiQuell™) for several years. After much discussion and thought, we decided to pull Lavengel® under the RadiQuell™ banner.

This streamlines things by keeping our products and mission under one entity, with species-specific product lines.

Secondly, this allows us to pursue product formulations that do not use lavender oil or come in a gel form.

Who owns RadiQuell™?

RadiQuell™ and RadiQuell™ Canine are owned by AOX Biopharma, LLC, a small, privately-held company of roughly 6 people and 4 dogs that is based in Saint Charles, Illinois.

RadiQuell's former name, Lavengel®, began under the ownership of RTD Neutraceuticals, LLC, which got its start in Johnson City, Tennessee, before merging to form AOX Biopharma LLC in early 2022.

Is RadiQuell™ still being researched?

The study of RadiQuell™ and its many forms continues!

It was tested and researched for ten years before commercialization because we wanted to offer a truly effective, verified, consistent, and stable product.

After years of study, it has been proven to help more and more problems and irritations. Therefore, its research will continue on new issues and subjects.
